The Law regulates the establishment and activities of the body which performs tasks of the national accreditation body, as well as determines the scope of accreditation, and the relation between accreditation and conformity assessment regulations.

This Law (OG 56/2013) establishes the framework for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 on setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products.

This Law define Accreditation Body as “The authority competent for the implementation of Regulation (EU) No. 765/2008.”

By this Decree and its amendments Government of the Republic of Croatia established a pubic body for carrying out activities and tasks of the national accreditation service.

The Statute regulates the name, registered office, activities of the HAA as well as the structure, authorities, operating methods and decision-making procedures by certain bodies, and other issues that are of interest for the operation of the

Croatian Accreditation Agency. The Government of the Republic of Croatia brought a Decision about giving its consent with the Statue of the HAA (OG 76/2005)

The Government of the Republic of Croatia brought a Decision about giving its consent with the Amendments with the Statue of the HAA (OG 52/2010)

Amendments of the Law on accreditation (OG 75/2009) and Amendments to the Statute of the Croatian Accreditation Agency was related with harmonisation with European Regulation for accreditation and market surveillance (EC 765/2008)
